Distributive morphological features

• syntactic research has hardly ever been carried with real-life corpuses
• outside situation is the main determining factor in morphological variation
• certain rare cases where grammar reflects genre: eg., so-called 2nd genitive plural in Finnish (isäin vs. isien of (the) fathers; cf. isäin kätten työ ~ isien käsien työ work of (our) fathers’ hands)
• no instances of this phenomenon have yet been found in the corpus
